Priyanka Chopra has shed her usual diplomatic avatar and talked openly about her relationships; in an exclusive interview from New York for the latest issue of Filmfare. She clarified she is not dating her married co-stars from Quantico, the hit American show that she is part of. Dating married men has seemingly become a taboo for her although it was a different story few years ago.

She started her career with Akshay Kumar and the pair hit it off on screen. They gave many hits but suddenly stopped working together after 2004. No one gave any official statement but obviously a hot looking, hit onscreen couple does not stop working just like that. As everyone knows Akshay Kumar was a serial cheater before marriage. However, after marriage he has been always the ideal devoted husband except this one ‘incident’ with Priyanka.

Media was abuzz with the alleged affair between Akshay and Priyanka. Rumour has it that his wife Twinkle was so mad at him that she moved out of home and stayed in a hotel for some time. She returned only after an alleged promise from Akshay that he would never do another film with Priyanka.

This is not the only time she was linked up with a married actor. Priyanka Chopra’s love affairs are many. It did not stop at Akshay. There were serious link up rumours of her with none other than Shah Rukh Khan.Shah Rukh Khan has always had the most solid marriage in Bollywood and there was never a whimper of a rumour around him. However, in 2011 rumours started to float when Shah Rukh and Priyanka were seen together in several public places, parties and events. They were promoting their upcoming film Don 2 and hosting few shows.

They suddenly however stopped being seen together and there was no further film starring them both. This gave a serious sense of déjà vu to Bollywood fans. Here the rumour has it that Gauri Khan not only extracted a promise from Shah Rukh for not doing a film ever with Priyanka but Gauri also made all her powerful friends including Karan Johar to banish her socially.

In a show called Dirty Laundry last year Priyanka talked about her favourite leather jacket which once belonged to an ex-boyfriend. Dragging out old pictures of her alleged beaus some people said it belonged to Shah Rukh Khan while few others said it belonged to Shahid Kapoor, her yet another alleged boyfriend.

Although at the time of the link up both Priyanka and Shahid were single, they never accepted their relationship publicly. It was probably a ‘friends with benefit’ kind of scenario between them.

In between all these alleged link ups Priyanka had dated someone “on the record”. He was Harman Baweja. But like his career their relationship never went anywhere either.

Once Priyanka’s career took her to the US, media never got hold of any real news or gossip about Priyanka’s love life. Thanks to this candid interview a lot of facts about her relationships were unravelled.

According to her, she is single now but till a year back she was in a serious relationship. “I’m a serial monogamist. I was in a very committed relationship. But since almost a year, I’ve been single. I’ve met a bunch of people. I’ve gone out with people. I let someone woo me but no…my mind hasn’t exploded, not yet.”

She is on top of the world in terms of her career. She has, without any godfather, achieved success both in India and the US. Let’s hope this independent woman gets her mind exploded very soon by meeting some one “mind blowing”.
